15:00-18:00 Walking Tour “7 Wonders”.
Lviv has many “miracles” but only 7 of the most worthy ones were chosen in this tour.
Chapel of Boim: mausoleum of the Hungarian family. Today is a miracle of architecture and art of the early 17th century. It is a department of the Lviv Art Gallery. For nearly 400 years, this pearl of the late Renaissance architecture has attracted the attention with the richness of beautiful stone carving.
National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after. S. Krushelnytska. This amazing theatre has been built just for 3 years. There is no mirror lobby like here in any theater in Europe . The foundation (for the first time in Galicia) – a reinforced concrete pillow of the famous Lviv company Ivan Levinsky. The pride of the theater is a unique curtain written on canvas in the size of 180 sq.m. made by Henry Semeradsky.
The House of Scientists built by the famous construction company Helmer and Felmer. Uniqueness of this house is restored paintings on the skin with hot paints during the restoration ! Also the unique things are ladders with oak railing and the walls in each room are covered with silk.
St. George’s Cathedral is a spiritual shrine of Greek Catholics throughout Ukraine. Here are relics such as the icon of the Terebovlian Mother of God of the XVII century, a copy of the Turin Shroud, the remains of Galician prince Yaroslav Osmomysl are kept in the crypt of the cathedral.
Bernardine Monastery. Three prominent architects built a new church of Bernardine monks in Lviv. The construction began in 1600 by the most famous Lviv Renaissance architect Pavlo Romlianin. This explains the architectural richness of the building. The interior of the temple is the most beautiful among Lviv cult buildings: 16 baroque altars, marble sculpture of the Most Holy Theotokos of the work of Italian sculptors in the middle of the XIX century, icon of the Mother of God crowned by Pope Roman Ivan Povil II.
Kornyakt Tower. The business card of the medieval Lviv was a 65-meter tower of Kornyakt built in 1578 with a hewn stone and named in honor of its founder – the Greek merchant Konstantin Kornyakt.
The Potocki Palace was built in the middle of the nineteenth century by polish architect Tsibulsky. Exposition of Western European paintings and sculptures of the 14th – 18th centuries you can see here, exposition of interiors of the nineteenth century is located in this palace.
Lviv Art Gallery. The Lviv Art Gallery is the largest art museum in Ukraine numbering more than 50 thousand exhibits and among them there are masterpieces of world art. For more than 40 years the gallery was headed by a man who, without exaggeration, became a living legend of his time – Hero of Ukraine Boris G. Voznitsky.

In the evening we recommend to visit:
– Lviv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after. S. Krushelnytska.
– M. Zankovetska National Academic Ukrainian Drama Theater.
– Lviv Philharmonic.
– “Kryivka” – it will be pleasant to all those who wish to visit the Ukrainian underground, to have the dinner in the field condition, get the dishes from the original Kazan and listen to Ukrainian songs.

Breakfast at the hotel restaurant. Check-out at 12:00.
09:00-18:00 One-day excursion “Golden Horseshoe of Lviv Region” (8 hours) with the visit of the Olesky castle. The Olesky castle is an outstanding monument of architecture and history of XIV-XVIII centuries. The first mention was in1327. Polish historians call Olesko the cradle of Polish kings. Jan III Sobieski were born there and Michal Koribut Vyshnevetsky spent there his childhood. Hetman of the Ukrainian Cossacks Bogdan Khmelnytsky also spent his childhood in the Olesky castle as evidenced by a memorial plaque on a stone in the park. Since the end of 1975 the castle became a museum-reserve, a branch of the Lviv Art Gallery. In the castle’s exposition are a wall-paper hall (on the walls of the hall there are the only Ukrainian wallpaper of the second half of the XIV century), 2 picture halls (walls hang portraits of nobles and owners of the castle), the hall of icon painting, the “Vienna” hall (with the greatest picture of Ukraine “Battle under Vienna “, the size of which is 8×8 meters); sculpture hall (Baroque sculptures of the school of “Ukrainian Michelangelo” by John Pinsel), dungeons. In the monastery and church of the capuchins of the eighteenth century, which stands next to the castle, is the depository of the Lviv Art Gallery. Pidhirtsi castle. It was built in 1640 by the project of the French military engineer Boplan and the Italian architect Andrea del Aqua. Pidgoretsky Castle is one of the best examples of a combination of the Renaissance palace with bastion fortifications in Europe. The palace was called “Polish Versailles”, “Galician Versailles”. The castle complex includes a palace, surrounded by bastion fortifications, shafts, moats, the park which is located on 3 terraces and is a monument of garden art of national significance; church of the XVIII century . Zolochiv castle. The unique and the only fully preserved castle in Ukraine is the type of neo-Holland fortification technology. It was built by the father of King Yan III – Lviv voivod Yakub Sobeski. The castle complex includes: ravelin, bastions, walls, shafts, the Chinese palace (works of oriental art, gifts of eastern ambassadors to Ukraine), the Great Royal Palace (exposition of Western European art, partially preserved fireplaces, portals and even an internal sewer system). In the courtyard of the castle there are large stones with mysterious symbols and embossed Gothic letters (dating from the ХІV-XV centuries.), brought from the forest near Zolochev.
